Meeting Someone in Person?

Making real connections is what LunarLinc is all about. Here's how to make sure your in-person meetups are safe, comfortable, and fun.

Before You Meet

Prepare Before You Go

Video Chat First

Before meeting in person, have at least one video call. It confirms the person matches their profile and gives you a feel for their energy.

Tell Someone Your Plans

Share where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back with a trusted friend or family member.

Research Your Match

It's okay to look someone up. Check their social media to verify they are who they say they are.

Trust Your Gut

If something feels off before the meeting — they're pressuring you, avoiding questions, or being inconsistent — it's okay to cancel. You don't owe anyone an in-person meeting.

During the Meeting

Stay Smart While You're There

Meet in Public

Always choose a well-lit, populated public place for your first meeting — a coffee shop, restaurant, park, or campus common area. Never meet at a private residence.

Arrange Your Own Transportation

Drive yourself, take a rideshare, or use public transit. Don't rely on your match for a ride — you need to be able to leave on your own terms.

Stay Sober

Keep a clear head, especially on first meetings. If you do drink, keep it to a minimum and never leave your drink unattended.

Keep Your Phone Charged

Make sure your phone is fully charged before you go. Consider sharing your live location with a friend for the duration of the meetup.

Set a Time Limit

Plan a first meeting that's short — coffee, not dinner. It's easier to extend a great time than to exit a bad one.

Your Boundaries Matter

Know Your Limits & Trust Yourself

You Can Always Leave

You are never obligated to stay. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, leave. A good match will respect that.

Don't Share Too Much Too Soon

On a first meeting, avoid sharing your home address, workplace address, daily routine, or financial information.

Watch for Red Flags

Controlling behavior, disrespecting boundaries, pressuring you to go somewhere private, or trying to isolate you from others are all warning signs. Take them seriously.

Report Concerning Behavior

If someone makes you feel unsafe — during or after a meeting — report them in the app immediately. We take every report seriously.

If You're in Danger

If you feel unsafe at any point, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
